QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma
* Possess 48 hours of college credit or pass the equivalency exam
• Knowledge of library functions preferred
• Ability to work positively with students and staff
• Computer application skills
• Ability to work with media equipment and compters
PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (The incumbent may be required to use the following skills and abilities during any part of the working day.) Speaking, hearing, manual dexterity (coordination of eye/hand for such activities as typing, calculating, word processing, and the like), bending, stooping, sitting, walking, standing, lifting (up to 20lbs.). Some positions willrequire the ability to provide physical assistance and personal care for students with variousdisabilities
RESPONSIBILITIES: Works under limited supervision. Performs clerical duties including filing, typing and data entry. Uses the automated circulation system to circulate books and other media center materials. Helps with re-shelving materials. Assists students in using the library information systems. Helps maintain, circulate and use audiovisual equipment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months, 8 hours/day
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of paraprofessional personnel. |
