Position Purpose: To provide school library media related clerical and technical support, in the form of library related data entry, record keeping, and device use. This person works on a variety of central media services initiatives, centrally and in school library media centers.
Qualifications:
- Strong technology skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Computer applications skills, including word processing and data entry.
- Ability to perform job activities in the areas of library technical services and basic school library operations, including most functions of the library management system, shelving materials, and inventory.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and to cope with interruptions and shifting job priorities.
- Capable of physical activity, including bending/stooping, standing, walking, reaching, lifting and carrying.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Help maintain district equipment records including, adding and deleting MARC Record entries.
- Barcoding, enrolling and engraving district devices.
- Receiving and barcoding new library materials in preparation for cataloging and processing.
- Copy cataloging.
- Working in school library media centers on inventory and projects related to opening and closing and remodeling.
- Maintains the TPS District Media Center services.
- Assists with the physical weeding of materials.
- Performs varied central media services related duties.
