Reports To: District Accountant
Position Purpose: Process and pay accounts payable/accounts receivable
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- General bookkeeping and accounting skills
- Skilled in the operation of computers and peripheral equipment
- Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain accounting records
Physical/Emotional Requirements: The incumbent may be required to use the following requirements during any part of the working day.
Speaking, hearing, manual dexterity (coordination of eye/hand for such activities as typing, calculating, word processing, and the like), bending/stooping, sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, visual acuity (work deals largely with preparing and analyzing dates and figures, accounting and visual inspection).
Responsibilities:
- Process all invoices and reimbursement in an accurate and efficient manner
- Maintain correspondence with vendors to resolve pricing, shipping cost and invoice problems
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Ensure invoices have proper authorization for payment
- Review travel reimbursement requests for compliance with district and IRS requirements
- Responsible for counting and logging cash and checks received for Accounts Receivables
- Research business transactionis as directed and prepare reports as required
- Enter adjustments for payroll and/or the Asst. Treasurer
- Scan and index all purchase orders, back up and checks for records
- Maintain filing system for all purchases/payments
Terms of Employment:
The term of employment is 12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of classified personnel. This position reports to the District Accountant
